Medical insurance of foreigners and non-residents, who stay in Belarus only for some time, is obligatory. That is done in case you need first aid in state health centers, when you are ill or have an accident. Two medical insurance companies “Beleksimgarant” and “Belgosstrah” were authorized by the Government of the Republic of Belarus to insure foreign citizens; and only insurance policies of these medical companies are valid and obligatory on the territory of Belarus.

All customs offices on Belarusian borders as well as airports and railway stations have subsidiaries of Belarusian state medical insurance companies, where foreign tourists can get a medical insurance policy.
